About us
At
GGL™ we differ by believing our client comes
first and, consequently, every aspect of the company has been
designed with this in mind. Every service on offer is approached
from an individual angle tailored to your specific requirements.
First of all, we listen to your requirements to discover
what you need from your garden - a tranquil, weekend retreat
or a safe playground for a young family, for example.
Having been associated with a number of projects over the
years, ranging from tiny patio gardens through to creating
new lakes and parklands we are now, through expansion, able
to share this experience and knowledge with a wider public.
All our in-house operatives are fully trained to the highest
standards or are being trained by experienced personnel who
remain with them on site at all times. Health and Safety issues
are treated as standard and, of course, we have full insurance
cover.
Not
only do we offer a choice of garden
services, we also offer a choice of how you pay for them,
to suit your lifestyle or budget. And we quote a price for
the total package, only rarely by the hour, so you know exactly
how much you will have to pay. No nasty surprises or shocks.
We are passionate about gardening and plants in particular
and, John Shortland, head of GGL™, has a wealth of experience
behind him. Apart from working in some very prestigious, private
gardens, he has been an advisor to the public at Chelsea Flower
Shows and led the plant production team for a BBC Gardeners
World Exhibition garden which won an acclaimed Royal Horticultural
Society Silver Medal. He has also assisted with the construction
of gardens for Channel 4 Television series ‘Garden Doctor’s’,
working alongside designer Dan Pearson and, earlier, the late
Geoff Hamilton.
GGL™ aim to do everything better!

Organic or non-organic?
We are totally committed to gardening in an environmentally
sound way. Wherever possible, (and always with food
production), we work using organic methods. However,
we are fully trained and certificated in the use of
pesticides and spraying techniques, if required.
An excellent form of control, albeit a compromise,
is known as integrated pest management. This brings
both disciplines of gardening together, biased towards
the organic way.
As professional members of the Henry Doubleday Research
Association, the organic gardening charity, we never
use chemicals as our first choice of control |
